Chemical Materials Total Solution Center in Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology was established to promote commercialization of R&D results of chemical materials which was developed at the laboratory level. It builds chemical materials information DB and academic – industrial network. As well as it takes a role to develop and support cutting edge fine chemical materials’ scale-up synthetic processing technology and clean fine coating processing technology for functional films which is the core material in display•energy industry.
In chemical materials information DB area, it turned over 30,000 of national/international plastic, rubber, fine chemical products’ properties and characteristics into DB to support chemical materials research development as the building chemical materials information bank project of the ministry of industrial trade resource. In the chemical materials Scale-up processing technology area, it secures a synthesizing reactor, which is over 300L, and facilities which can carry out experiments such as refinement, separation, and mixture on a pilot level for companies and researchers’ convenience. In the functional coating processing area, through the ministry of industrial trade resource’s material test-bed project, it completed building a 1,000ml level’s clean room, which allows producing not only optical films for display, coating products for secondary batteries and solar batteries, films for high value industries but also experimental products, and wet coating facility in 650mm effective width, dry coating facility, and film assessment facilities for various films. It additionally built a roll-to-roll CVD coating facility to promote commercialization of functional coating materials’ and functional coating films’ R&D.
